What is MECSS?
The Structured Mechanism for the Exchange of Experiences in
South-South and Triangular Cooperation (MECSS) is an initiative
by the PIFCSS that promotes mutual learning and capacity building
among countries. Its objective is to facilitate the transfer of
knowledge and best practices in cooperation topics, supporting
joint development at both regional and global levels.
This mechanism is part of Strategic Objective 1 of the 2024-2030
Strategy, which seeks to strengthen national cooperation systems
in the region. Since its implementation, MECSS has served as the
stage for more than a hundred knowledge exchanges among
Ibero-American countries, addressing both challenges and
opportunities in institutional, regulatory, and management areas.
Its ultimate goal is to strengthen cooperation through the
exchange among key actors in the National Cooperation Systems.
Contribution to the Exchange of Experiences
Through MECSS, countries can access a structured platform to share and learn from the
experiences of others. This mechanism facilitates direct exchange among key actors in
South-South cooperation, promoting innovative practices and effective solutions to common
challenges.
